Handheld gamers rejoice, Nintendo 3DS eShop launching June 6

Today gamers have even more to rejoice about as Nintendo of America recently made a huge announcement for its 3DS users. By the evening of June 6 PST, the first major system update for the 3DS will be available in North America.
This free update available via a Wi-Fi connection will give gamers access to an Internet browser and the Nintendo eShop, which contains a variety of new content. If you’re a Pokémon fan, there’s some equally exciting news for you as well, since Nintendo said also launching with the eShop is the Pokédex 3D, an app that lets you see Pokémon characters in 3D. The rest of the details are in the press release below, but with this app, players will be able to start collecting data for more than 150 Pokémon to complete their Pokédex by sharing data with friends and using the SpotPass feature, or by scanning special Pokémon AR Markers.
The news doesn’t stop here as in celebration of the grand opening of the Nintendo eShop, the company is offering Exitebike, the NES classic re-mastered in 3D, as a free download until July 7 for anyone who installs the system update.
Nintendo said new content will be added to the eShop on Thursdays.
