Sony Advance Model, NXCAM prototype, PMW-F3 and other NEX Wonders

[CP+ 2011] Sony Advance Model, NXCAM prototype, PMW-F3 and other NEX Wonders

Today at CP+ Sony had one of the most interesting booths with many products that were yet been made available to the public and the general press. Nothing really we did not heard about in the past or during CES, but we couldn’t resist sharing some live footages (Video + Photo) of this event for you.
Among the noteworthy product on display we really enjoyed Sony’s approach behind its “Old Meets New” concept where the company display several NEX cameras mounted with some of the best Lens ever made for film cameras. Along side these lenses we also discovered some “Reference Models” of Sony’s future E-mount lenses that will be released later this year as well as in 2012.
Like usual and for the past three consecutive year, Sony displayed its Alpha “Advance Model” the future Alpha 77 DLSR killer with transparent mirror that we all hope to have the pleasure to play with this year.
Sony also displayed its fantastic PMW-F3 Video Camera with a Super 35-equivalent frame size senor and made to compete against RED’s fantastic cameras, as well as Sony’s Future entry level Indy oriented AVCHD NCXAM prototype.
Finally, Sony’s Spring 2011 Cyber-Shot was also on display and we even had the chance to play with Sony’s new External HDMI LCD the CLM-V55.

Sigma’s DP2x in action

[CP+ 2011] Sigma’s DP2x in action

Announced yesterday ahead of CP+ we had the chance to play for a while with Sigma’s latest DP2x and its improved AF. Of course we did not had the chance to really go deep into our quick test, but we have to admit that the DP2x AF is noticeably faster than on previous model. However a thorough test of this Camera will give us the possibility to really enjoy this little yet major improvement.

First shots and Video of Ricoh’s GRX first Leica M Mount

[CP+ 2011] First shots and Video of Ricoh’s GRX first Leica M Mount

Last week Ricoh made the front page of most Tech Blogs and Photo Magazine by announcing its future CMOS module for Leica M Mount, and today we had the chance to see this new module in Action at CP+.
Unfortunately not available yet for testing, Ricoh however was kind enough for us to let us shoot pictures and video for you without the usual protective glass that protect all prototypes during such event.
Already a fantastic camera, Ricoh’s GRX mounted with Leica M Mount lenses will be just a pure bliss for any serious photographers!

Pentax K-5 Silver, K-r Bonnie Pink in Video and WG-1

[CP+ 2011] Pentax K-5 Silver, K-r Bonnie Pink and WG-1

Announced before, Pentax’s latest models, including the K-5 Silver, funky K-r Bonnie Pink and WG-1/WG-1 GPS were all in display on the manufacturer’s booth.
Despite being a Canon fan boy, I have to admit that Pentax has recently with its K-5 and K-r series made some really impressive cameras that will please most of us, first time shooter or professional.
Anyway, if you are looking for a camera with its “own” personality thanks to a wide range of colors and but need a professional grade photo quality, go and check Pentax, they will definitively have something for you!

JVC GC-PX1 High-speed Camera and Compact 4k2k Concept

[CP+ 2011] JVC GC-PX1 High-speed Camera and Compact=

JVC Stunning new little High-Speed Camera GC-PX1 has on display today at CP+ 2011, and after spending some time playing with it I have to admit that I’m deeply in love and need to book a sample to review ASAP! Despite its “cheap” plastic the GC-PX1 is really impressive and its 300fps video mode, even in VGA is stunning! Another great little aspect about this camera is it’s surprisingly light body and easy do handle grip design.
Unfortunately only at the “Prototype” stage, JVC displayed a 4K2K version of its GC-PX1 and GY-HM100U that I would love to see made available to the public this year. To be far I don’t give a XXX about 3D but, what I want is to get a real compact 4K2K camera in my pocket… JVC please HURRY-UP!
