The Fierce Laser Gaming Mouse V2 will also come with all the relevant details that gamers want in a mouse sans the additional complications, and of course, you will be wondering just how much you will need to fork out for this technological wonder – we’re looking at a mere $49.95, which is highly affordable by gamer standards. Oh yeah, it is game legal, too, so fret not about being “disqualified” or robbed of your victory when you use the Fierce Laser Gaming Mouse.

Pentel airpenPocket digital pen

Pentel has something extremely interesting up their sleeves this time around, where what they are offering is definitely different from what you would expect. Instead of the business-as-usual stationery, along ambles the airpenPocket digital pen. Yup, by its name alone, you can tell that this is definitely something more than special.
Just what the heck is the airpenPocket, you ask? For the uninitiated, this is actually a digital pen which is capable of wirelessly transmitting characters as well as images it draws on paper to a computer. To know what kind of technological wizardry lies behind this writing instrument (or rather, inside its chassis), you might as well hit the rest of the post.
For starters, the airpenPocket comprises of a specially designed digital pen and a memory unit, where it will feature Bluetooth connectivity as well as the ability to receive and send data. Whenever you use the pen to take down a note, it will automatically record whatever was written in the memory unit thanks to Pentel’s original method (ultrasound infrared). All relevant data will then be transferred over to a computer through Bluetooth.
This wireless setup is a dream for most folks, but like most other good things, they do come from humble beginnings. The airpenPocket’s predecessor relies on a USB cable for data transmission between its memory unit and a PC, so fitting the successor with Bluetooth connectivity is a no-brainer. Pentel hopes that the wireless capability of the airpenPocket will expand further the use of the pen with mobile devices.
Pentel hopes to have the pen play nice with smartphones and tablet devices that have Bluetooth support as well, and intends to roll out applications for Android-based devices from early March this year onwards. All saved data will end up on the server of Evernote Corp’s “Evernote” crowd service with but a click. This means the combination of an airpenPocket and a smartphone will make it possible to save a handwritten memo using Evernote’s service even if you are not at home, how now about that?
Just make sure the airpenPocket has enough juice left before writing down a really, really long thesis lest the dog eats your homework and you have no softcopy backup.

Star Wars Boba Fett Headphones

So we’ve looked at Darth Vader drop some serious beats yesterday, and here is Boba Fett who intends to have his own 15 minutes of fame with the Star Wars Boba Fett Headphones. Currently available for pre-order, it is tipped to ship from February 2nd onwards (which isn’t too far away – just 2 days, to be exact) for a highly affordable £34.99. For any serious Star Wars fan, that can be considered to be a bargain.
Wearing this will help you capture the look of the Galaxy’s favorite bounty hunter, where it will sport an adjustable strap which is capable of fitting most head sizes, while a 1.2 meter coiled cord should be adequate for most listeners. This is an officially licensed product that would definitely have serious collectors sit up and take notice, although we’re sure you can get comparable performance from cheaper non-branded headphones.

Neuro Fuzzy Rice Cooker

Back in the days where there was no such thing as a rice cooker, you had to figure it out through experience. How much water do you put inside so that the rice doesn’t end up as porridge? Just how long should you cook the rice under a stove, and when do you turn off the fire? All of those survival skills are more or less lost because of the advent of the dummy-proof rice cooker.
Enter the Neuro Fuzzy Rice Cooker from ThinkGeek – this rice cooker thinks for itself, where it will make the relevant adjustments to temperature and cooking time, letting you churn out tastebud perfect white rice, brown rice, sushi and even oatmeal. Of course, the $199.99 asking price might be too much for what you’re looking for, but when you take into consideration what it is capable of, it might just be worth every single penny.
Capable of cooking up to 5.5 cups of rice at any one go, geeks will definitely love its extra large colored LCD display alongside an easy-to-use navigation control panel. All purchases will come with a rice measuring cup, rinse-free rice measuring cup, nonstick rice spatula, and spatula holder.

Black Pyramids could harness solar energy in the UAE

Did you ever wonder why the Egyptians built the pyramids? It wasn’t because the desert was too boring, but they were tombs for the pharaohs.
In the case of this particular concept design known as Lunar Cubit, these pyramids could be built for the purposes of solar energy.
Lunar Cubit is the winning entry in Land Art Generator Initative, a contest in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) made for designing green energy installations that look really nice.
For some reason, I don’t have any information from my source about how this pyramid collects solar energy. However, I have heard that the deep black panels on the pyramid can give out enough power for 250 homes.
In fact, much of what my Source says deals with lunar energy. Apparently, this Lunar Cubit pyramid light up in various patterns to indicate the phases of the moon. I’m not certain why this is, but if we can ever harness the power of the moon, that would be good.
I don’t know if these pyramids will ever be built, but considering all the stuff in Dubai that has been built, I don’t see why not. Personally, I think that this is the best use of pyramids since the glass one at the Louvre.

Check out this R5800 Solar Death Ray, built by 19-year-old Eric Jacqmain

What you are seeing here is a “death-ray” made by gluing 5,800 tiny mirror tiles to a fiberglass satellite dish.
According to my Source, it is powerful enough to “melt steel, vaporize aluminum, boil concrete, turn dirt into lava, and obliterate any organic material in an instant”. Believe it or not, it was built by a 19-year-old named Eric Jacqmain who wanted to prove how powerful the sun’s energy is.
Okay, point taken! Unfortunately, Jacqmain’s invention failed because it was destroyed by a shed fire that was started by its own energy. Jacqmain says he want so build a more powerful version with 32,000 mirrors in the future. Will that be more powerful than the sun?
In all honesty, I’m not certain at what point the government should intervene when Death-rays are created. I think I saw an episode of Mythbusters where they were trying to find out whether some ancient mirror weapon could blast ships. As I recall, it was busted. Correct me in a comment if it was Plausible.
Okay, this is one those times where I doubt whether this is true, because this weapon seems too powerful and it is rather convenient how this particular WMD was accidentally destroyed.
Does anyone know whether or not this particular R5800 Death Ray is really true? I’m not saying that it is completely false, but I would like to find out more about it.

As most of you would know by now, driving around in your car while talking on the phone without a hands-free device of any sort is dangerous, not only to yourself but other road users as well. This is why there is such a thing known as a Bluetooth headset or a hands-free kit for your car, so stop being miserly and invest in one already. Of course, a hands-free kit isn’t only limited to in-vehicle use, but can also come in handy at home or in the office.

iKit rolls out AutoCharge + USB

iKit is definitely a name that you should be familiar with when it comes to Apple accessories, and this manufacturer is now back with another innovative offering – the AutoCharge + USB. What makes the AutoCharge + USB so special? Well, it is actually a high-performance 2.1 AMP USB port that delivers a simple and rapid charge to your iPad, iPhone, iPod and USB devices whenever you are on-the-go.
Yes sir, this means you no longer need to be confined to your home and wait for the mentioned devices to juice up, as the AutoCharge + USB will play nice with standard 12v accessory outlets. It will be accompanied by a charge sync USB cable that delivers the utmost in convenience and functionality.
Apart from that, you will find that the rubberized coated finish is a nice touch since it delivers a durable grip and a slick appearance, making your car look good even though the jalopy has been handed down from your dad. Too bad the color choices are scarces with just black or white to choose from. Fancy parting with $24.95 for the AutoCharge + USB?

Genius jumps into tablet game with Kids Designer Tablet

Genius knows that there is plenty of room for the tablet market to expand, and have decided to take the plunge as well with their Kids Designer Tablet. What you see on the right intends to usher children in to the world of technology – a primer of sorts, so to speak.
It will help parents introduce children to the technology of tomorrow, and give them a competitive edge with their peers since they will be able to pick up the skills of a mouse and keyboard from an early age. The Kids Designer tablet is a snap to use, as it sports a rather large 5” x 8” working area which will deliver practical lessons in hand-eye coordination, as your little ones enjoy educational and creativity-inspiring games on the computer.
The package will ship with games (children learn from play after all) that will teach those aged three to eight about colors, shapes, logic, geography, math, memory, responsiveness, and drawing. You need not fret that they can’t figure it out, as these games sport a kid-friendly interface that prevents boredom from setting in.
The Genius Kids Designer will play nice with Windows 7/Vista/XP, where you will need a free USB port to hook up the tablet to your PC while a CD/DVD-ROM is required for software installation.

Callaway upro mx heads for the greens

Are you an avid golfer who wish that you could spend much more time at the green instead of in the office? Chances are at that level of fanaticism, you will definitely subscribe to golf magazines that teach you how to improve on your game, and you will always be on the lookout for better devices in the market that can help you with your swing.
Enter the Callaway upro mx which is a next generation golf GPS device that will continue where the original upro device left off. What makes the Callaway upro mx different from the rest would be the integration of intuitive technological advancements that we will look at in further detail in the extended post.
The upro mx will sport a full-color Multi-Gesture Touch Screen display as well as a precise Optical Finger Navigation system, letting golfers easily navigate the deep feature set using a single swipe of a finger. It doesn’t matter where you swing that club either, since each purchase will come pre-loaded with over 25,000 courses from the company’s global database.
The upro mx enables golfers to use the GPS device’s offerings right out of the box, and it is currently touted to be the only dedicated golf GPS system on the market that delivers high resolution actual aerial photography for individual golf courses. Expect the Callaway upro mx to arrive later this May for $199, and even better news is this will not come with any annual fees to begin with.
Callaway also came up with a simplified online process when it comes to downloading content to the device. Among the on-course features that you will benefit from include the Virtual Green View that relies on a proprietary imagery process that shows the green and the surrounding area in vivid detail. With the ability to know the exact putting distance, your mates might label you as a cheat but you know that this is just a quest to improve on your game, right?
With a full-color 2.2” LCD screen and tipping the scales at just 3 ounces, you know that this will not cause you to sweat any more than you already should on the course.

Over the Top is a 17 x 17 x17 Rubik’s Cube

For some reason, I just can’t get enough of Rubik’s Cube stuff. Remember the Rubik’s Slide Puzzle and the Gear Wheel IQ? Not to mention the Scruble Cube that combines the puzzle cube with everyone’s favorite puzzle game of Scrabble.
I don’t know why I am obsessed with this thing, perhaps it is because I am into tech things, and most people who are into tech things can solve that dang cube that I have never been able to solve.
I would like to see someone solve this particular cube, which was designed by Oskar van Deventer. It is a 17x17x17 puzzle cube printed using Shapeways, which I believe is a 3D printing place for specially made items like this one.
This is one of those times where I have to doubt whether the item I am reporting on is legitimate. After all, I don’t even know if there is a way to twist something that looks to be rather large.
Still, you got to like how it has a black frame around the edges. In case you doubt whether or not this is genuine or not, this 17 x 17 x 17 Rubik’s Cube, also known as Over The Top, will be on display at the New York Puzzle Party Symposium on Saturday, February 12th.

Jet-powered Water Cannon from China

I don’t know if you are one of those people who are really worried about China tipping “the balance of the world”. I saw a whole episode of The Officedevoted to it the other day, and it reminded me of conversations that I had with people who are worrying about the most populated country because they can.
In the case of the Chinese fire department in Luoyang city, I think they are seriously ahead of the game with this jet-propelled water cannon. This thing is capable of spraying four tons of water per minute, which suggests that it shouldn’t be used on crowds.
This water can move at speeds that are so quick that they choke fires from the oxygen surrounding them. It also has quite a huge range for this blaze blaster at 120 meters (400 feet).
There is a video of this guy on my Source that I wasn’t able to import. I like it because it reminds me of a cross between an oil tanker and a giant cannon.
By the way, this bad boy costs about $456,000, and I am sure there are now people everywhere saying that the Chinese have these giant cannons capable of spraying the United States. Yes, they are powered by the Pacific Ocean that they can spray at us. We are helpless to stop them.

iCar has discovered the secret of flight: It’s the wheels

I always love to report on flying cars as much as I can.
This one, which is called the iCar, doesn’t need any wings or magic to fly but uses specially designed wheels. Apparently round spinning surfaces can create lift, which is called the Magnus Effect.
The iCar takes advantage of the Magnus Effect to turn its wheels into wings. On the ground, the iCar is a one seater sports car with four traditional wheels and giant cylindrical hubs. To get airborne, it extends its hubs outward to create a larger lifting surface, the hubcaps on the two front wheels swivel forward to turn into propellers, and the car is ready for takeoff. As it starts to move forward, the cylinder wings spin (driven by electric motors), and they generate enough lift to get the iCar airborne in about 1,500 feet.
Apparently, the car has a range of about 500 miles and has a cruising speed of 200 miles per hour.
As you can see, the iCar is in its concept stage, which is visible in this particular mock-up. I’m not certain what it is called the iCar, generally that small “i” gets associated with Apple products. Still, I hope to see this sometime flying over me someday.

  • 1KHz Sensitivity: 115dB

AOtech has new LED TV for hospitals

When it comes to HDTVs as well as other flat screen displays, surely you would not have heard of JAOtech but rather stuck with the traditional names such as Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, LG and Mitsubishi among others. JAOtech, isn’t that well known among the consumer circles simply because it is the leading manufacturer of bedside Smart Terminals for hospitals.
Having said that, JAOtech has prepared itself to unveil the world’s first large screen ultra-thin medical LED TV that comes complete with a built-in computer, targeting specifically at healthcare applications such as patient entertainment and clinical access. Known as the 40” Inix, it will hit North America at HIMSS 2011 in Orlando, Florida from February 21st – 24th.
JAOtech will also use the event to introduce a host of other product developments in its Arcos accessories range, where among them include multimedia wall boxes and arms that were specially designed for use with bedside cabinets.
The new JAOtech Inix Smart HD LED TVs will also be pretty similar in terms of features that made its Smart Terminals extremely popular with hospitals around the world. The product itself was designed specially for the medical environment with an IP rated waterproof screen that has been tested against hospital cleaning agents. As for the fan-less embedded computer, it will be powered by the latest Intel Atom processor technology that delivers low noise and power consumption coupled with high reliability and performance.
Of course, to keep up with the rest of the Joneses, the Inix will be able to handle full high definition 1080p resolution with aplomb. This 40” model is extremely thin at a mere 1.6” thick, although this is definitely nowhere near the super slim LED TVs that we saw at CES earlier this year.
Apart from that, the Inix is compatible with JAOtech’s newly developed gesture remote control that sports a full keyboard on the back, making it the perfect tool for inputting data or writing emails. Apart from that, the TV will also play nice with JAOtech’s existing Wyki wireless keyboard.

Sony Next Generation Portable console ready to rock

Want to get some portable gaming time under your belt? You can do so with a fair number of devices which are in the market already, among them the iPod touch, iPhone even, the Nintendo DSi as well as the Sony PSP.
Well, to make sure that Sony has got your back covered with the latest and greatest, the company has just announced their latest addition to the mobile gaming scene – the Next Generation Portable. For folks who staked their house on the name PSP2 being the successor to the hugely popular PSP, you’re out of luck, although we do admit that Next Generation Portable (NGP) sounds a whole lot lamer.
No, you cannot just rush out to the store to pick a NGP for yourself simply because it will not arrive in the markets at least until the end of this year, making us more or less sure that this will be one of the hot ticket items when Christmas rolls around this year. Parents, you have been forewarned, so make sure you have a healthy cashflow to keep your little ones happy as they bug you incessantly for the NGP.
NGP was specially designed to deliver an unparalleled interactive entertainment experience, although this will not sport a 3D display that is set to debut with Nintendo’s upcoming 3DS. Hardware specifications include Wi-Fi and 3G network connectivity, and when either one works in tandem with a range of applications, NGP will be able to let you experience infinite possibilities to “encounter,” “connect,” “discover,” “share” and “play” with friends wherever they are.
As for its display, your eyes will definitely appreciate the beautiful multi-touch 5-inch organic light emitting display (OLED) at the front, and when combined with a high-performance CPU/GPU, you can be sure that the visual feast served is second to none. Apart from that, there will also be a unique multi-touch pad on the rear, letting you interact directly with games in 3D-like motion via “touch, grab, trace, push and pull” moves of the fingers.
UMDs are also a thing of the past, where small flash memory cards (Nintendo DS, anyone?) are used instead to store and carry all your games. How much are you willing to fork out for one of these when it is available?

Ricoh does digital photography with new CX5

Ricoh knows that the market for digital cameras is huge, and they have just revamped their range with the new CX5 digital camera model which boasts a wide-angle, high magnification 10.7× optical zoom (28–300 mm) lens that will in turn deliver a higher autofocus speed courtesy of Ricoh’s new hybrid AF system.
With this, the new CX5 will feature AF focusing times that are decreased to as low as 0.2 seconds, irregardless of whether you’re using wide-angle 28mm or telephoto 300mm, which is nearly half as short compared to its predecessor (the CX4), thanks to the aforementioned new hybrid AF system. To put it in a nutshell for the average layperson to understand, the CX5 is perfectly adept at helping you shoot the image you were waiting for without having to miss the moment.
The implementation of super-resolution technology in the CX5 will pave the way for recording of images with improved resolution, while in its telephoto shooting at up to 600mm equivalent, you can be assured that there will be minimal degradation in image quality with its “Super-resolution Zoom.”
What makes us pretty stoked about the CX5 will be something that most other digital cameras lack – we’re talking about the Continuous Golf Swing scene mode. Yes sir, you can now improve on your swing simply by taking photos of you in action with a golf club. It will display grid lines when shooting and playback, so that you can further make changes to your game and decrease your handicap in future rounds.
With 14 different types of Scene Modes, you can be pretty sure that no environment or event is going to be a challenge for you, and best of all is, you need not fiddle with confusing looking buttons and controls that are found on DSLRs. Of course, this compact digital camera is no substitute for what a DSLR can deliver, but it does offer a decent alternative.
Out later this February for $500 thereabouts, you might want to consider the Ricoh CX5 as your next casual digital photography purchase.

iSkin ProTouch Classic Keyboard Protector for MacBook Air

Now the MacBook Air is certainly a thing of beauty, and if you are one who tends to sell off your old devices to fund in part the purchases of new gizmos, then keeping your current MacBook Air in tip top condition is definitely important. Enter theiSkin ProTouch Classic Keyboard Protectorspecially meant for said notebook.
It has been designed to overlay the keyboard, preventing those who work late into the night and love pizzas from dropping small particles of food in between the keyboard’s crevices, not to mention helping keep dust and other impurities out. Despite being so thin, the ProTouch is extremely durable, working without overheating or hampering use of the keyboard.
Not only that, it acts as a sound dampener caused by typing while preventing key wear from heavy use, ensuring your MacBook Air is in tip top reselling shape. Available in Arctic (Clear Frosted) initially, it will play nice with the 11″ MacBook Air, retailing for $24.99 a pop.

Virtual Master Real from Takara Tomy

Are you an avid fisherman? Of course, by this we don’t mean going out to the sea to earn your keep, but rather, taking a day out alone (or with your mates, depending on what you prefer) in the wide open sea, hoping to be engaged in a battle royale so that you can regale your friends and family about the “one that got away”.
Of course, going fishing does have its fair share of bad points, where among them would be running the risk of being boarded by pirates or having a nasty sunburn. Takara Tomy decides to bring the virtual world into your living room with the Virtual Master Real, where it looks like a fishing reel and comes with a handle for pulling fish in.
A tiny display will let you see the virtual fish you catch, alongside the drama of fish which struggles against your pull. Out in July this year, it will retail for $75 if you are interested.

Toy Story Lego Minifigure Alarm Clock

We all know that Lego has a Minifigure Alarm Clock that looks like Anakin Skywalker, so it seems smart of the company to branch off with other Lego franchises as well.
I would think that Lego would have tried other franchises like Harry Potter or Indiana Jones. However, a lot of people like the Toy Story Lego toys. For me, I just don’t see the logic of making toys out of toys.
As you can see, the Woody and Buzz Lightyear alarm clocks are posable like the young Darth Vader one. They have an LCD display on their chests, and Woody has the set buttons on his back while Buzz has them on his chest plate. As for the Snooze button, the user just pushes on Woody’s hat or Buzz’s helmet.
Just between you and me, I don’t think that Buzz’s wings retract. I wonder if these are those talking alarm clocks that wake the kid up by talking to them. They used to make those when I was a kid, and I believe they were pretty expensive. I remember the Dukes of Hazard and Batman and Robin ones off the top of my head.
As for Buzz and Woody, they are available for pre-order at Firebox.com for $40.

Razer Ferox announced

Love precision gaming? Then chances are pretty high that the name Razer rolls off your tongue more often than you mention the name of your girlfriend. Of course, there is also the possibility of you being single because you have single handedly dedicated your life to the cause of being the number one gamer of a particular genre, only to realize that it isn’t that easy a road after all. Razer’s being a household name for quite some time already, and their latest addition would be the Razer Ferox.
Just what is the Razer Ferox? This is a brand new ultra portable stereo speaker which intends to prove to the world that size does not matter. It might be physically a whole lot more petite compared to other stereo speakers out there (we’re talking about portable ones for an apple to apple comparison), but Razer assures you that your ears will be assaulted by a sonic attack like no other. Meant to deliver 360 degrees of omni-directional sound, Razer intends to surprise you out of your socks despite its form factor.
According to Robert “RazerGuy” Krakoff, president, Razer USA, “The Razer Ferox is our sophisticated, modern day boombox for gamers. Its sleek and compact structure takes up minimal space but delivers the crystal clear sound quality perfect for gaming on-the-go or for music playback wherever you’re at.”
Thanks to its 360 degree omni-directional acoustics, the Razer Ferox is capable of delivering a whole lot wider listening sweet spot compared to just about any other ordinary front-facing speakers. It doesn’t really matter where you are seated or standing, the Razer Ferox will sound just as immersive. It boasts of expandable resonance chambers which is capable of providing stronger bass and optimized digital amplifiers, delivering a fuller sound experience in the process since each chamber will rises upon a single press to power up.
The built-in rechargeable battery delivers 12 hours of juice, and with the convenient carrying case, you will find that the Razer Ferox is extremely versatile. It will also play nice with any media player as long as they’re compatible with a 3.5mm jack. Out this month for $59.99 (our friends living across the pond will have to pay more in terms of value at €59.99), you might want to consider this if you’re looking for serious performance from a small package.

Anakin Star Wars LEGO Minifigure Alarm Clock

Are you a huge fan of Star Wars? Chances are pretty good that that is the case, since a huge number of the populace grew up on George Lucas’ space opera, and the current generation also had their brush with the prequels (which didn’t really live up in terms of storytelling although they did fare a whole lot better where special effects are concerned). Well, this has certainly led to the commercial juggernaut where Star Wars merchandise is concerned, and among the latest offerings would be the Anakin Star Wars LEGO Minifigure Alarm Clock. This £24.99 purchase will feature a relatively large LEGO minifig of the young Anakin before he started down on the path to the Dark Side, complete with the almighty snooze function (great to skipping Master Yoda’s classes) and backlight function which can be activated by pushing down on his head. Of course, his still human hands and legs can be moved (according to the limited degree of freedom for all LEGO figures).

iPhone Desktop Handset

So you’re pretty proud that you’ve finally gotten hold of the phone that the world lusts after, which is the iPhone 4. Well, just in case you want to make sure you get the best bang for your iPhone buck, you can always bring home the $59.95 iPhone Desktop Handset. Basically, the iPhone Desktop Handset will turn your compatible iPhone into a desktop handset, as long as it remains docked. The desktop handset is capable of navigating through the iPhone’s plethora of applications, where among them include calendars, e-mail and the Internet. The headset itself is plugged into the iPhone’s headphone jack, while you can ensure that your iPhone receives the proper gadget nutrition (read: electricity) from a computer or wall outlet courtesy of a USB charging cable and adapter, and in turn, the iPhone’s battery will power the headset. With an anodized aluminum stand which looks stunning and complements your iPhone 4′s design, it will remain secure on a desktop using four non-slip silicone pads even in the most heated of conversations.

Bottoms Up Beer Dispenser – Sometimes faster IS better

How I remember Spring Break, the surf, sun and sand. Waiting in a line for half an hour for a beer. Waiting in line for another half an hour for a beer. Waiting in, ah never mind, you get the picture. Needless to say I think my time was split evenly between sunning myself and waiting for beer.
Well wait no more, GrinOn Industries has thankfully designed and produced the Bottoms Up Draft Beer Dispensing System, the world’s fastest dispensing system, able to fill your cup with consistently lightly foamed frosty goodness up to nine times faster than traditional beer taps, and it does it all, from the BOTTOM of a specialized magnet-enhanced disposable cup! Don’t miss the videos HERE.
The Bottoms Up Cups are proprietary to the Bottoms Up Dispensing System and come in 12, 16, 20 and 24 ounce sizes with 2 different pitcher sizes also available  ( I was wondering about that)
The magnet that seals the bottom of the cup after it is filled, is affectionately called “The MAG” and doubles as the coolest, and most collectable advertising space yet known to humankind.
Yes, it improves service times and increases customer satisfaction and sales. Yes, it reduces draft beer waste, saving money and time. It undoubtably will improve operational efficiency and product consistency… yes, yes, yes. But most of all …it’s just so darn cool!
What? What’s that you ask? The answer is yes. They will soon be making one for home use too. Wanna come to my next party?

The Affinity Chair can turn invisible

This is the Affinity Chair from designer Ben Alun-Jones, and it is a chair that can turn invisible. Actually, it is a chair that is already invisible and can turn visible when needed, seriously.
The Affinity Chair is made of some clear acrylic that uses the mirror film that is seen to tint car windows. If someone approaches, there is an ultrasonic sensor that kicks into gear, then a pulsating set of LED lights inside the chair. As a person gets closer, the LED lights speed up to make it clearer to look at. So not only is your furniture invisible, but it starts lighting up.
The Affinity Chair is on display at Victoria and Albert Museum in London. I don’t think that there is way for a person to actually buy this.
Then again, do you really want to have invisible furniture on your house? You know that time when you bump your knees on a chair or a couch because your lights are off? Just picture doing that when the lights are on.
Yes, I can imagine a lot of bumping around like being in a giant invisible pinball machine of pain. Still, I wouldn’t mind having an invisible bed, especially if it lit up as I got into it. I won’t tell you why.

Check out this large slide!

What you are seeing here is not a roller coaster, but a slide. That’s right, this is a slide like on a playground.
I remember that I had a small park near by house growing up, and I always felt I was fortunate. Right now, I’m looking at this slide and thinking that the kid who lives near this park with this slide is the luckiest kid in the world.
In addition to this long roller coaster of a ride, there is also a huge lighthouse of a tower for a higher view. Man, if I took my kids to this park, then they would never want to leave.
You know why I like this slide? It’s all a bunch of rollers and I don’t see any way that a kid can climb up it. I swear, my kids are always running up the slide. I wonder if they would try to run up this one.
Unfortunately, my Source does not show where this park with the roller coaster slide is. It would almost be worth flying to this place like going to Disneyland or some other theme park. Yes, travel guides of the world, you definitely want to put a pushpin in the map for wherever this slide is.

Simon Flash to be coming soon

If there is one thing that doesn’t seem to go out of fashion, it is Simon. The game where the player must use their memory and repeat a flashing pattern of colored lights has been imitated inLoopz and various other iPhone Apps.
It has now been updated into Simon Flash, which is essentially Simon split up into 4 different blocks of red, blue, green, and yellow. I suppose that you could put these blocks quite a distance apart, and get some exercise while you play the memory game.
In addition to the often imitated memory game, the user can also play a different game based on another age-old and often imitated game: Mastermind. The player will have to find out a secret color combination in a certain amount of moves, says my Source.
There is no word as to when the Simon Flash will be available, nor a price. I would imagine that you would have to put a battery or a few batteries in each particular square, and these squares would have to be somehow linked together, perhaps with Bluetooth.
You know, I have a great idea. Is there any way that someone could take 4 iPhones or 4 smartphones and link them together to make a DIY Simon game? If you know of anyone who has done this and has it on YouTube, leave us a comment with the link.

It’s a Mouse, It’s a Game Controller, It’s a Remote Control – No, It’s the Chameleon X1

I’m a huge fan of multitasking. In fact, the more a thing can do fairly well, the more fun it is for me. I never kid myself though, most of the time when something tries to do too much it doesn’t usually do most of it very well, like the Chinese pizza and taco place down the street.
However, if there were to be 3 things that should fit great together, why wouldn’t it be a seemingly ordinary, albeit simply gorgeous mouse, that when flipped upside down, offers a fully functional game controller and a PC remote that can bring up your iTunes with the push of a button, flip through some tracks, handle your power point presentation and shut down your computer.
The X1 gamepad that is built into the bottom includes a 5 stage adjustable 1600 dpi optical sensor with 125 Hz polling rate and connects to your laptop or desktop through a USB dongle over a 2.4 GHz wireless connection, and while all that certainly isn’t very high-tech by todays standards and I can’t be sure you’re going to be able to make it through Azeroth with it,  you can certainly enjoy it with some classic arcade video games from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s. Definitely more fun than pizza and tacos.

2GB Flash Drive Memory Spy Audio Digital Voice Sound Recorder

Now that’s certainly one of the longer names for any device in my history with Coolest Gadgets, why can’t we just call it a spy voice recorder? Oh yeah, perhaps that will not help it stand out from the rest of the crowd, that’s why. The next time you go to work and tote a USB flash drive, make sure it is this$19.99 model since it sports an advantage that your colleagues’ don’t – it has a built-in sound recorder. Yup, even if it is lying prone on a table, it is capable of capturing crystal clear audio across a 5-meter radius, storing all of the recordings onto its internal flash memory. All you need to do for that to happen is slide the switch and audio recording happens instantly and automatically. We find it rather strange that audio is recorded in WAV format instead of MP3, but good thing its 2GB of internal memory can hold up to 4.5 hours of non-stop recording. Since it doubles up as a USB flash drive as well, this one has something slightly different – an integrated 120mAH Li-battery that takes 1.5 hours to juice up. We would have liked to see something with more internal memory though to keep up with the Joneses.

Desktop Combustion Engine

Ever wondered how an engine works? Well, you can spend some time with one up close and personal thanks to Hammacher who has come up with theDesktop Combustion Engine. This unique device is capable of generating a cool 2,000 rpm right in front of your own eyes, where it is crafted from solid brass, stainless steel, and aluminum by a German engineering company.
Needless to say, the German touch results in an engine that has a precisely calibrated carburetor, spark plug, and piston which will generate maximum mechanical energy in a smooth, efficient manner. It relies on butane which is readily available at camping stores to fuel it, where the engine will start simply by turning its flywheel.
There is also a piezo magneto that is attached to a timing disk which will send an electrical impulse to the spark plug, helping ignite the fuel within the cylinder. An adjustable fuel valve will control the engine’s speed where this simple yet elegant movement of the valve rod, cross head, and crankshaft are clearly visible at lower revolutions.
The whir of the engine is similar to that of a kitchen blender, where its dual exhaust pipes emit a non-toxic, invisible gas – so you can forget about committing suicide with this in a sealed office room simply because you can’t handle all the workload that’s thrown at you (alongside the fact that the hot secretary rejects your advances daily). A full tank will have this $999.95 engine run for 15 minutes.

Sennheiser PX 360 BT and PX 360 collapsible headphones

Sennheiser intends to blow your ears away with a couple of their latest releases – the PX 360 BT and PX 360 collapsible, circumaural headphones. Of course, these debuted at the recently concluded CES 2011, and since we didn’t have the time to cover all the good stuff that came out, we thought that audiophiles would definitely want to hear about these two.
Of course, don’t judge a book by its cover – in this case, a pair of headphones by their ability to be folded away into a pocket-sized package – the new PX 360 BT and PX 360 are no slouches when it comes to performance, with the former’s “BT” suffix depicting Bluetooth connectivity support, while the latter will rely on the traditional wired connection.
It doesn’t matter where you are whenever you put on the PX 360 BT and PX 360, as either model will allow you to immerse yourself in Sennheiser’s rich world of sound. Featuring a natural sound with strong bass, the powerful Neodymium magnets thrown inside alongside Sennheiser’s Duofol diaphragms ensure detailed, lifelike sound reproduction with a frequency response of 15 to 22,000 Hertz. There is also a very good reason behind the closed design of the headphones that ensures background noise is effectively kept out, letting you enjoy music in peace even in noisy environments.
The PX 360 is touted to offer an exceptionally comfortable fit despite it being a wired headphones, where soft circumaural ear cushions allows you to wear it on without any adverse effect for hours on end. As for the Bluetooth-enabled PX 360 BT, it will allow you to play nice with a wide range of portable video and audio devices. The inclusion of SRS WOW HD SurroundSound technology helps spatially expand the sound image to offer an intensive sound experience with powerful bass.
Needless to say, all functions are activated and controlled by a control unit integrated into the ear cup. Stashing them away is a snap, just fold them and you can be on your way. Don’t fret about them cracking, since the folding headband has a metal reinforcement for maximum mobility and durability, while each purchase comes with its own carrying case. The PX 360 and PX 360 BT will retail for $199.95 and $399.95, respectively.

Introducing the Skizee, the Stand-up Snowmobile

What you are seeing here is the Skizee, and it is designed to do what skis cannot, carry you uphill. Yes, I still remember that first lesson of skiing back in grade school: skis go downhill, and you need a rope-tow or ski-lift if you want to go up.
It looks like someone just cut a snowmobile in half and somehow figured out a way to put a tread with a 10.5 hp 4-stroke engine on your back, but you can watch the video after the jump to see that it gets the job done.
I suppose that the Skizee takes the fun of a snowmobile and gives it to the user in standing-up form. It also puts it in a small form, as this can be put in the back of a trunk along with the poles it comes in. Now you don’t need a pickup truck or a separate trailer to do your snowmobiling habit, assuming you can handle the new method where you don’t sit down.
So, is this a new method of going on snow? I remember when snowboards first hit the slopes, and things were never the same. I wonder what these things run on, and how efficient is their gas mileage.
The Skizee costs about $2,500, so that seems a little high to me. Perhaps it is too expensive to be the newest snow fad.
