Yaskawa Robot Lightsaber duel… The Force is strong in these ones!

At this year ICRA or International Conference on Robotics and Automation in Shanghai, the Japanese company Yasakawa demonstrates its robots skills by performing a “real” lightsaber duel between two of its Motoman industrial robots. Luckily for us the guys over at Spectrum IEEE was there and shot a stunning little video of this deadly fight!

Docomo and Mizuho released their first AR ATM Finder for Android smartphones

Docomo and Mizhuo Bank, Japanese second largest bank released yesterday a new Application for Android Smartphone the “ATM Store Finder”. Compatible with most Android phone sold via Docomo, the ATM Store Finder will quickly help you to locate ATMs across Japan by displaying live information on your phone via a new AR (Augmented Reality) application or directly on a map. This application is of course free of charge and is now available on Docomo app market and will give you all details like address, phone number and other services related to your ATM needs.

Iiyama introduce new ECO 20” HD Monitor

Iiyama new 20” HD Monitor, the E2008HDD-B is the company latest ECO display that comes with a stunning 25W power consumption which is according to Iiyama 40% less than previous models in its standard mode and or being 30% less power hungry when its ECO mode is activated.
The E2008HDD-B comes with a 1600×900 resolution, a 2ms response time (GOG), a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and a 250cd/m2 brightness.
Announced at 16,800 Yen, the E2008HDD-B will be available in Japan at the end of May and comes with the usual DVI-D and D-Sub interface.

LG Optimus 3D brings world’s first 3D Augmented Reality

LG and Wikitude announced today the implementation of the first 3D AR (Augmented Reality) browser on the LG’s new Optimus 3D Android Smartphone.

Thanks to the adoption of the Wikitude 3D browser you will now be able to get real-time information overlapping live videos with a stunning 3D effect that only LG’s Optimus 3D smartphone can bring.
While 2D AR only displays overlapped objects, 3D AR shows places, landmarks and objects in 3D making them easier to distinguish. The browser al-lows users to discover details about their surroundings and access related Wikipedia articles and Twitter information.
Wikitude 3D includes information on over 100 million locations around the world, with contributions from more than 1,000 content providers. The browser currently provides support for 12 languages for now and. users can download Wikitude 3D from LG World, LG`s dedicated application store for free, staring in the middle of June.

Samsung claims 3 Million Pre-orders for its Galaxy S II

The marketing ware has just started; Yesterday Samsung announced in Korea that its Galaxy S II Smartphone has reach yet another milestone with 3 Million pre-orders around the globe. With already over 120,000 Units sold in Korea alone during the first launch day and with up to 120 countries waiting for the Galaxy S II Samsung maybe on the verge to propose one of the best selling phone for the year 2011 with prediction going up to 10 Million units sold this year.
